Jared Hoying gave the Indians their first lead with a two-run home run - his fourth of the season - in the bottom of the third to make it 3-1.
Yakima chipped away to get within one on a Raywilly Gomez run-scoring groundout the following frame, but Spokane tallied two in the fifth and another in the eighth to take the ballgame going away.
Chad Bell (2-0) pitched seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out four and walking four to earn the victory. Miles Reagan (1-4) went four-plus innings, allowing four runs on two hits while walking three and striking out three to suffer the loss.
Although the Bears did commit three errors, their middle infield played soundly, turning a pair of double plays.
Gomez finished the night 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base. Raoul Torrez went 1-for-3 with a double, a run, and a steal.
The loss officially eliminates the Bears from first-half title contention in the Northwest League East.
