Brandon, Manitoba -- The Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings, in conjunction with Oak Island Golf Resort are pleased to announce this year's Grand Prize winner in the "How I Spent My Summer Vacation Contest."
The Harris family of Brandon, more specifically Paige, Zachery and Megan were chosen from several hundred entries and as a result has won an autographed Wheat Kings' replica jersey as well as a golf prize package from Oak Island Resort.
The winning photo featured the Harris kids visiting and enjoying Splash Island in Portage la Prairie.
This year's contest was held in honour of the Wheat Kings' new website launch in September. Fans were invited to visit the new look site, check out its exciting new features and share the highlights of their summer vacations for a chance to win this great prize.
"That's great news.thank you," father Rick Harris told the Wheat Kings on Friday after learning that his children were chosen this year's winners.
As expected, Western Manitoba hockey fans dominated the contest but entries were received from across Canada and the United States as well.
The announcement was made Friday night at the Wheat Kings - Kootenay Ice game at Westman Place. Friday's game was presented by Oak Island Resort, home of Riel's Restaurant and an 18-hole championship golf course.
