Rodriguez is the 17th Dynamo Academy product to sign a Homegrown contract with the first team and the fifth signed by General Manager Pat Onstad, since February 2022.
"Seba is a promising young central midfielder who joined our club in 2017 and worked his way through the Dynamo Academy to become an impact player with Houston Dynamo 2 last season, helping the team earn their second consecutive playoff berth. He is a great example for local Houston kids about the commitment required to become a professional soccer player and we look forward to his continued development within the club," Onstad said. "We want to thank his mother Patricia, his father Salbador, and his Aldine-based youth club Texanitos for their significant contributions to his development."
Rodriguez joined the Dynamo Academy in 2017, joining the U-11 team after two years with Texanitos. The Porter, Texas native worked his way through the Dynamo Academy to become a key contributor to Houston Dynamo 2's midfield last season, helping the MLS NEXT Pro club advance to the postseason for the second consecutive year. The 16-year-old made 19 appearances and earned 12 starts for Dynamo Dos in 2023, contributing one goal and one assist over 1,004 regular-season minutes.
