BLAINE, Minn. - Houston Dynamo 2 extended their unbeaten run to five games with a 4-1 victory over Minnesota United FC 2 earlier today. Dynamo 2 have outscored their opponents 8-1 in the last three games, and this was the second time this season the team scored four goals in a single game.

Houston took the lead in the fourth minute after Yair González beat the Minnesota goalkeeper at the near post with a shot from outside the box. This is González's third goal of the season and his first since a shootout victory over North Texas SC on May 21.

Dynamo 2 doubled their lead in the 13th minute after forward Zeke Soto forced a turnover inside the penalty area. Midfielder Diego Gonzalez capitalized on the loose ball for his sixth goal of the season. The Dynamo Academy product has now scored in four consecutive matches for Dynamo 2.

Diego Gonzalez won a free kick in the 16th minute that lead to the third goal of the match. Dynamo 2 midfielder Juan Castilla took the ensuing free kick from outside the box and his effort bounced into the bottom corner of the far post. Castilla recently returned from representing Colombia at the U-20 FIFA World Cup in Argentina. The Dynamo Academy product led Colombia to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Dynamo 2 captain Jacob Evans found Sebastian Rodriguez inside the box for the fourth Houston goal of the evening. This was the first professional goal for the 15-year-old who is a product of the Dynamo Academy.

Minnesota pulled a goal back in the 59th minute after Rory O'Driscoll beat the Dynamo 2 goalkeeper at the near post.

Yair González forced a save minutes after scoring the opening goal after he dribbled more than 30 yards to the endline. His effort bounced off the Minnesota goalkeeper at the near post and eventually cleared by the Loons backline.

Dynamo 2 midfielder Brooklyn Raines was denied by the post in the 43rd minute with an effort from outside the box. The Homegrown midfielder logged a 70-minute shift against Minnesota.

Houston Dynamo 2 return to SaberCats Stadium on Thursday, June 15 to host Timbers 2. Dynamo 2 close the two-game homestand on June 25 against Earthquakes II. For ticket and additional information, visit HoustonDynamoFC.com.
