Houston Dash News Release

HOUSTON (Friday, July 3, 2015) - The Houston Dash will host a watch party for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup Final on Sunday, July 5, as the U.S. Women's National Team faces Japan.

The watch party will take place at The Phoenix on Westheimer (1915 Westheimer Rd., Houston, 77098) and is open to all ages. The match kicks off at 6 p.m. (FOX, NBC Universo). Dash players Ellie Brush and Megan Kinneman will be in attendance, signing autographs for fans and presenting giveaways during halftime. Parking information is available at HoustonDashSoccer.com/WomensWorldCup.

The United States, led by Dash players Carli Lloyd, Meghan Klingenberg and Morgan Brian, is seeking its third World Cup championship and first since 1999. Lloyd has scored in each of the United States' three knockout round games, the third American to score in three consecutive World Cup matches. Klingenberg and the rest of the U.S. defensehave not allowed a goal since the first half of their first match of the tournament, a streak of 513 minutes. Japan and the U.S. met in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup Final as Japan took the championship on ppenalty kicks after a 2-2 draw through regulation and extra time, but the U.S. avenged the defeat at the 2012 Olympics with a 2-1 win to claim the gold medal. Lloyd scored both goals.

The Dash trio will return to Houston following Sunday's match as the Dash host the Chicago Red Stars at BBVA Compass Stadium on July 12. Tickets for the match are available at HoustonDashSoccer.com or by calling (713) 276-GOAL.
