Houston Comets 2006 Preseason Schedule Released

HOUSTON - The Houston Comets will open a three-game preseason schedule with a contest against the Charlotte Sting on Wednesday, May 3, the WNBA announced today as part of the 2006 league preseason schedule. The preseason tip-off game versus the Charlotte Sting is slated for 7:30 p.m. (CDT) at Toyota Center.

Following the game versus the Sting, the Comets will go on the road to face the Washington Mystics at the MCI Center on Wednesday May, 10. The Comets will then return home for their third and final preseason contest to face the Detroit Shock on Tuesday May, 16 at Toyota Center. Houston is coming off an appearance in the 2005 Western Conference Finals where they lost to the eventual WNBA champion Sacramento Monarchs, after posting a 19-15 regular season record.

The 2006 season will mark the 10th Anniversary for the Comets and the WNBA, making it the longest-running professional women's league in history. The Comets will tip off the regular season at Toyota Center on Sunday, May 21st, with a game versus in-state rival San Antonio Silver Stars.
