Sting announce 2006 preseason schedule

Charlotte Sting News Release
In preparation for their 10th anniversary season, the Charlotte Sting will play a four-game preseason schedule, it was announced today. Two of the four contests will be played at the new Charlotte Bobcats Arena in Uptown Charlotte.
"We are excited to begin our 10th season," said Sting Head Coach Muggsy Bogues. "The preseason will give us an opportunity to make our team better as we head into the regular season. It will also give our fans their first look at our exciting 2006 roster."
The Sting will begin their 2006 preseason schedule on the road as they travel to Houston to face Sheryl Swoopes and the Houston Comets on Wednesday, May 3. Tipoff is slated for 8:30 p.m. at the Toyota Center.
The first of Charlotte's home preseason games will take place on Saturday, May 6, as Tamika Catchings and the Indiana Fever visit the Queen City. The game is set to begin at 6 p.m.
Charlotte concludes the preseason with a home-and-home series with San Antonio. The first game of the series takes place in Charlotte when the Sting host the Silver Stars on Tuesday, May 9, at 7 p.m. This game will be a special complimentary event held exclusively for Sting season ticket holders. The two teams then meet up three days later in the Lone Star State as the Sting visit the AT&T Center on Friday, May 12, at 8 p.m.
Details on the sale of tickets to the May 6 preseason game at Charlotte Bobcats Arena will be announced at a later date.
