Houston Aeros Begin Training Camp Monday

HOUSTON - Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill announced today the American Hockey League (AHL) team will begin training camp Monday, September 21 at Sugar Land Sports and Ice Center (SLICE). Players will report to Houston Sunday and perform physicals before hitting the ice for the first practice Monday afternoon. The team will then practice Tuesday-Friday from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

On Wednesday, the Minnesota Wild assigned G Barry Brust, LW Brandon Buck, LW Jon DiSalvatore, D Jamie Fraser, C Brian Kaufman, C Morten Madsen, RW Carson McMillan, D Maxim Noreau, D J.P. Testwuide, and C Peter Zingoni to Houston. On Saturday the Wild assigned three additional players to Houston, D Ryan Lannon, D Brandon Rogers and D Clayton Stoner.

All practices are open to the public at SLICE. On Saturday, September 26 the Aeros host the San Antonio Rampage in a preseason exhibition at SLICE. Game time is set for 6:05 PM and tickets are available at the SLICE pro shop for $10 and include an autograph session following the game. Contact SLICE at (281) 265-7465 for more information.

On Monday, September 28 the Aeros will travel to Austin for a pre-season game against the expansion Texas Stars at 7:00 PM at the Cedar Park Center.

The Aeros open the regular season Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3 in Manitoba, followed by the return to Toyota Center for Houston's home opener October 9 against the Texas Stars.
