Houston Aeros announce Gajic released, Kalus reassigned

HOUSTON, Texas - Houston Aeros' General Manager Tom Lynn today announced the American Hockey League (AHL) club has released right wing Milan Gajic from his Professional Try-Out (PTO) with the Aeros. Houston right wing Petr Kalus has joined the Czech national team in preparation for the World Championships this May.

Gajic, 26 (6/1/81), tallied four goals and two assists in 11 games with the Aeros this season including the team's only hat trick. The Burnaby, British Columbia native was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fourth round (#122 overall) of the 2001 NHL entry draft. Gajic also played in 16 games this season with Manitoba tallying eight points (3-5=8) with the AHL club. He also has played in 35 games with ECHL Victoria and tallied 40 points (15-25=40) in his time there.

Kalus, 20 (6/29/87), Played in 58 games with Houston tallying 18 points (8-10=18) and 57 penalty minutes with the club. The Ostrava, Czech Republic, native played 43 games last season with Providence recording 30 points (13-17=30) in his time with the club. Kalus also played in nine NHL games with Boston recording five points (4-1=5) in his first professional season.

The Aeros begin the 2008 Calder Cup Playoffs Friday night in Rockford. Follow the action live on 1070-AM KNTH with Jason Shaver on the play-by-play.
