BOSTON, MA - Major League Lacrosse today announced its weekly award winners for Week 10 of the 2016 season, naming Hounds attack Ryan Brown Cascade Rookie of the Week. In addition to Brown's honor, the Rochester Rattlers' Jordan Wolf was named Warrior Offensive Player of the Week and the Boston Cannons' Josh Hawkins earned Warrior Defensive Player of the Week accolades.

Brown was a key catalyst to the Hounds' 20-14 victory over expansion team the Atlanta Blaze on Saturday, June 25, recording a total of eight points on six goals - including one 2-pointer - and one assist. Brown had tallied a total of four goals and two assists in the three games prior to facing Atlanta.

The Hounds jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the first quarter, thanks in part to back-to-back goals from Brown in the ninth minute. This included his first career two-point goal off a feed from Joey Sankey. The rookie added one goal each in the second and third quarter as Charlotte held on to a 15-12 advantage going into the game's final 15 minutes. The Hounds extended the lead to 18-12 with two goals from Kevin Crowley and one from Sankey. Brown then scored two straight with seven minutes remaining in the game, essentially sealing the victory for Charlotte.

The Hounds (5-3) this weekend travel to Atlanta for a rematch with the Blaze (3-5). Faceoff is scheduled for 8:00pm ET at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Friday, July 1. The following week will be a bye for all MLL teams as the league hosts the 2016 All-Star Game on July 9 in Southern California. The Hounds return to action on Saturday, July 16, with a 4:30pm road contest against the Rochester Rattlers.
