Hounds Look for Redemption after First Loss in 22 Months

May 13, 2004 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Ohio Valley Greyhounds News Release

For the first time in almost two years, the Ohio Valley Greyhounds must bounce back after a loss as they take on Lexington.

The Horsemen come in setting atop the wild Atlantic North standings with a 4-2 record. After suffering their first loss, the Greyhounds are now just a game and-a-half in front of the revamped Carolina Stingrays, who gained a game on the Greyhounds in the Atlantic East by beating Greenville on Saturday.

The Hounds and Horsemen met on April 17th in Lexington, with a 22-point outburst in the fourth quarter being the difference as O.V. took down Lexington 48-34 at Rupp Arena. Allan Jackson's interception coupled with 13 tackles earned him Player of the Game as well as Atlantic Conference Player of the Week honors.

The Hounds look to take out their frustration on Lexington after losing to Fort Wayne last Saturday at War Memorial Coliseum. The Freedom jumped out to a 40-16 lead and held off a late charge from the kennel dwellers, winning 43-35 and snapping a 26-game winning streak. The Horsemen had the luxury of playing Wichita Falls, as Dusty Bonner found the end zone six times to six different receivers in a 71-34 route of the Thunder.
