Wheeling, WV- The 2002 NIFL National Champion Ohio Valley Greyhounds are pleased to announce the signing of Rashon Spikes.

Spikes, a 5'11", 215 pound running back from North Carolina State, will make his NIFL debut with the Greyhounds.

Spikes was a four year starter at NC State. While with the Wolfpack, Rashon gained 176 yards in the Micro PC Bowl vs Miami. Rashon was 6th all time for NC State in kick return average with 24 yards per return. Spike is also ranked 13th in school history with 1446 yards rushing.

In the spring of 2000, Spike was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Cleveland Browns. In the pre-season, Spikes scored a touchdown vs. Philadelphia on a two yard carry. He was carried on the practice squad for the remainder of the 2000 season.

Spikes was allocated to the Frankfort Galaxy in 2001 by the Browns. After returning to the US, Rashon was released by the Browns and resigned by the Carolina Panthers. He was carried on the Panthers practice squad for eight weeks.

In February of 2002, Spikes was aquired by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL.
