Hotshots add defensive duo to 2008 roster
February 6, 2008 - International Basketball League (IBL)
West Coast Hotshots News Release
Bend, OR- The Central Oregon Hotshots have announced their fourth and fifth player signings for the 2008 season. Jack Wolfinger and Greg Taylor will join the Hotshots for the teams fourth season in the International Basketball League.
Wolfinger, a 7'0" center, played for a season in the Big East at St. John's University, before finishing his college career at Ventura College in California.
Taylor, 6'6", is wing player with the strength and athleticism to defend both guard and forward postions. Taylor finished his college career at Montana State University after transferring from Southern Union State Community College (Alabama).
Hotshots owner Mikal Duilio - "We will be an up-tempo, high-scoring team again this season-and Jack and Greg will certainly contribute to that. However, it's what they bring to the defensive side that is really going to make us better. Greg is an incredible on-the-ball defender, and Jack along with Phillip Freeman (6'11"), will give us a substantial inside presence. This team is going to get more stops and block more shots in 2008."
The Hotshots 2008 season kicks off with a home game on Friday, April 25 against a team from China-the Shanxi Kylins. For information on Hotshots season or single-game tickets, contact the team at (541) 848-8562 or visit the Hotshots team page at www.centraloregonhotshots.com.
