
Valpo alum joins Steelheads

Gary, IN-The Gary Steelheads have announced that 6'5" shooting guard and former Valparaiso University Crusader Ron Howard will play for the team in 2008.
Howard, a Chicago native, played three seasons at Valparaiso after transferring from Marquette following his freshman season. Howard averaged 13.8 and 13.1 points per contest for the Crusaders as a junior and senior, respectively.
Howard is currently playing for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBDL, and will join the Steelheads at the conclusion of the Mad Ants' season. Howard has started 14 of 23 games for Fort Wayne, averaging 8.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists. Howard has also played out of the country in Holland and Mexico.
