International Basketball League's West Coast Hotshots Are Fired Up

West Coast Hotshots News Release


Legendary Seattle area coach Randy Redwine, who has coached in the IBL for years- will head coach for the West Coast Hotshots in the 2011 IBL season. Redwine is recognized as an outstanding coach who has tremendous recruiting ties. The Hotshots will head into a 7th season of basketball and have been renamed the West Coast Hotshots (former name was Central Oregon Hotshots) as the team will no longer play in Central Oregon and in fact, all 20 Hotshot's games will be on the road. Players that are planning on playing with the Hotshots in 2011 include:

Power forward Ike O'Hansen. O'Hansen- 6 foot 7, played his college basketball at Arkansas Tech and has had many big games in the IBL.

Vershan Cottrell (6' 2')- Cal State Fullerton

Robert Schmeider (6' 5')- University of Minnesota

Antonio Chaveous (6' 3')- Washington State

Tony Andershek (6' 1')- Eastern Washington

Richard Thomas (6' 1')- University of New Orleans

Also joining the team is 6' 7' small forward Kenan Oliver. It is expected that 2010 IBL All Star forward 6' 5" Jadae Bonds will be recruited to play with the Hotshots. And for leadership, 6' 6" guard Rashaad Powell is also expected to play with the West Coast Hotshots. Rashaad Powell is a three time IBL All Star and the league's 9th leading scorer, all time.

The West Coast Hotshots team will tip off the 2011 season on Friday April 15th at the Bellingham Slam. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. at Whatcom Pavilion in Bellingham, Washington.
