WINOOSKI, VT --- The Eighth Annual Vermont Lake Monsters "Hot Stove" Banquet and Auction will take place on Saturday, January 14th at the Wyndham Hotel in downtown Burlington. Along with a dinner and silent/live auctions, former Major League infielder Rico Petrocelli will be the guest speaker and two new members will be inducted into the Vermont Lake Monsters/TD Banknorth Sports Community Hall of Fame.

This year's "Hot Stove" Banquet and Auction will benefit Jim's House, which supports those affected by ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) and other neurological diseases. Tickets for the event are $50 apiece and can be purchased in person at the Locker Room store or Lake Monsters office in the Champlain Mill or by phone at (802) 655-4200 or (802) 655-5939.

Among the autographed items that will be auctioned off the night of the event are a Ted Bruski New England Patriots helmet, Robinson Cano ball, Bill Buckner/Mookie Wilson 1986 photo and a photo of singer Faith Hill. An Andre Dawson Vermont Expos throwback jersey (from A Salute to Montreal night last summer) and autographed ball will also be auctioned off, along with an overnight stay and three-course meal at Trapp Family Lodge, Large One-Topping Free Pizza a week for one year from Donny's Pizza, an IPOD and a trip to the Bahamas.

Petrocelli played 13 major league seasons (1963-76) as an infielder with the Boston Red Sox. He finished with a .251 batting average, 210 home runs and 773 RBI in 1,553 career games with the Red Sox. A two-time All-Star selection, his best season was in 1969 when he hit .297 with 40 home runs and 97 RBI in 154 games.

Dan Marlow and Ralph "Lefty" Guillette are the ninth and tenth inductees into the Lake Monsters/TD Banknorth Sports Community Hall of Fame. Marlow is a long time coach and athletic director at Bellows Free Academy (BFA) in St. Albans, while Guillette has spent over 50 years as a coach and booster for sports from Little League age to professional baseball.

Barbone, currently the head coach at Concordia University in Irvine, California, returns as the Banquet and Auction Emcee after a one-year absence. Vermont's manager for the 1998 and 1999 seasons, Barbone is serving as the Emcee for the sixth time.
