Horsemen sign first 14 players

The Lexington Horsemen today announced that they have signed their first-ever group of players, and that the 2003 Horsemen will feature no less than 12 former Kentucky Wildcats. Former UK and Valdosta State quarterback Dusty Bonner heads this group of signees, all of whom have ties to the Central Kentucky football community. In addition to Bonner, the team announced that it has also signed:

· Dougie Allen, WR, Kentucky (1998-2001)

· Neal Brown, WR, Kentucky/Massachusetts (1998-2002)

· Gordon Crowe, DL, Kentucky (1996-1999)

· Lewis Diaz, OL, Eastern Kentucky (1996-1999)

· Harold Dennis, WR/KR, Kentucky (1994-1996)

· Martez Johnson, FB, Kentucky/Bowling Green State (1998-2002)

· Anthony "Champ" Kelly, WR, Kentucky (2000-2001)

· Marvin Majors, DL, Kentucky (1995-1998)

· Ray McLaurin, TB/FB, Kentucky (1993-1996)

· John Radar, LB/DL, Kentucky (1997-2000)

· Kip Sixbery, OL, Kentucky (1999-2000)

· Grayson Smith, DL, Kentucky (1997-2000)

· Julius Yeast, DL, Ohio State/Eastern Kentucky (2000)

"We couldn't be happier with this bunch of young men," said Horsemen Head Coach and General Manager Tony Franklin. "I've had the pleasure of coaching a number of these players in the past, and we have the utmost confidence that they are going to do us proud both on and off the football field. I think we can win a lot of games in this league with these guys."
