Lexington, KY- The Horsemen Arena Football team has been assigned Craig Yeast, former wide receiver for University of Kentucky. Yeast attended the University of Kentucky from 1995-1998 after playing quarter back and running back at Harrodsburg High School. At the time of his departure from the university, he was the all-time leader in career receptions in the history of the Southeastern Conference, with 208 catches and was second in career receiving yards with 2,899. As a senior he was a third team All- American according to College Football News, and was also a consensus All-Southeastern Conference first-team selection. He was a semi-finalist for the Fred Biletnikoff.

In 1999 He was the third pick of the fourth round in the NFL draft and went to the Cincinnati Bengal's. In 2000 Yeast continued as a Bengal and had his best NFL season when he caught twenty-four passes for 301 yards and one rushing attempt for an additional 15 yards.

After playing for the New York Jets in 2001, Yeast went to the CFL (Canadian Football League) for four seasons and posted 158 receptions for 2,706 yards (17.1 yards per catch) and 13 touchdowns.

Yeast has been playing in the AFL for Georgia Force until recently. When Lexington joined the af2, Yeast saw an opportunity to continue to play ball back home in Kentucky.

When Horsemen General Manager, Bryan Boehm and Head Coach Mike Harmon were reached for comments, Boehm said, "We are extremely excited Craig has chosen to join our organization. This reaffirms the elevation of talent that the af2 league brings to our community." Head Coach Harmon added, "Craig is a huge addition to our organization. He not only is a great player, but a great person and a household name in the state of Kentucky. We expect great things from Craig and the rest of our team this year."
