Greensboro, N.C. - Miss Babe Ruth and the Grasshoppers are inviting fans to bring their "best friends" to the ballgame on Tuesday, May 13 for "Babe's Bark in the Park" when Greensboro takes on Lakewood in a 7:00 p.m. game at NewBridge Bank Park. The annual canine event is the first-of-two the Hoppers will host this season and is being presented by Novartis Animal Health.

Fans can pre-register their dogs online in advance or at the Edgeworth Gate (left field) on the night of the event. A standard ticket to the game will be required for all humans and special "Pooch Passes" must be purchased for each dog with the proceeds from the canine tickets going to the Animal Rescue and Foster program of Greensboro.

"First off, we're very thankful and appreciative of our partnership with Novartis and their sponsorship of Babe," said President and General Manager Donald Moore. "Baseball is very much a family sport and Babe is just as much a part of the Hoppers family as other dogs are to theirs. This is a unique opportunity for the fans and it's always a treat to see owners and their ‘best friends' out on Natty's Hill enjoying the game."

A pre-game parade around the field will be held prior to the game beginning at 6:30 p.m. and all participants are encouraged to show up early to take part in the festivities. Along with a pre-game parade, contests will be held for the largest dog, owner and pet look-alikes, and most unique tricks.

For tickets to "Babe's Bark in the Park" or more information about upcoming Grasshopper games, events and promotions, contact the Grasshoppers Box Office at 336-268.2255 or visit www.gsohoppers.com on the World Wide Web.
