Hoops' Murdock Wins Player of the Week Honors

Grand Rapids, MI - The Continental Basketball Association announced today that Grand Rapids HOOPS' guard Eric Murdock has been named American Conference Player of the Week for December 1-7

Last week, Murdock, a nine-year NBA veteran, averaged 23.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and nine assists in leading the HOOPS to a 2-1 record. His best performance of the week came on December 6 at Sioux Falls, where he registered 26 points, 12 assists and four steals in the HOOPS' 107-92 victory.

On the year, Murdock is ranked among the league leaders with 19.1 points (12th), 8.1 assists (1st) and 3.0 steals (3rd) per game. The Providence (' 91) alum joined the HOOPS this season after tallying over 500 games played in the NBA from 1991-00. In his nine seasons of actions, Murdock averaged 10.1 points and 4.8 assists per game.

Murdock is the first HOOP to receive the honor this season, and the first since James Collins received the award for his efforts from 2/24/02 to 3/2/02 last season.

On Tuesday night at the DeltaPlex, the HOOPS host the Gary Steelheads and former HOOPS assistant coach Dale Osbourne in an American Conference battle.
