STOCKTON, Calif. - Following a three-game series at Visalia, the reigning champions of the California League will return to Banner Island Ballpark for a three-game homestand against Rancho Cucamonga. It will be their first series against a South Division club this season. The May 8 and 9 games will begin at 7:05 p.m., and Sunday's Mother's Day game will begin at 2:05 p.m.

The Ports are excited to highlight several exciting upcoming events, promotions and giveaways for their second homestand this month.

Broadcasting:

On the Television: The Ports will have their second home game televised on the new regional Comcast Hometown Network (Channel 104 for Comcast customers) on Friday, May 8. Fans can tune in at 7:00 p.m. to catch Stockton in action. Erik Alves, the sports director of Comcast Channel 26 (SJTV) will be on the air calling the play-by-play for the Ports. Six other Ports home games and two more Ports away games will be televised this year. Fans can also watch Ports games through Comcast's Video ON DEMAND feature. On the Radio: Every Ports game can be heard on KSTN 1420 AM, the home of the Stockton Ports, this season. Zack Bayrouty, the Voice of the Ports, will be calling the play-by-play for his third season this year. Fans can also hear his radio broadcasts online at www.stocktonports.com as part of the free audio streaming feature. On the Web: Fans can follow the live box score at www.stocktonports.com to keep track of the game or to listen to an audio stream of the radio broadcast. By Telephone: Fans can now utilize the Teamline Direct feature, which allows them to dial into each game from a telephone or cell phone. To listen to each game with Teamline Direct costs $5 per game. Promotions and Special Events:

Featherweight Champ meets Reigning Cal League Champs: The Ports are excited to host Urijah Faber, one of the biggest stars of MMA and a World Extreme Cagefighting featherweight, on Friday, May 8. Faber, a 29-year-old native of Sacramento, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch before the game, and will be available to the media starting at 6 p.m. Faber, a graduate of UC-Davis, will be looking to reclaim the featherweight title from Mike Brown on June 7 at ARCO Arena. After the game on May 8, fans can watch post-game fireworks, presented by Food4Less, light up the Downtown Stockton skyline.

Why Yes, That Is My Car: Fans can check out the new Chevy Camaro on Friday, May 8 as well. Chase Chevrolet, one of the 2009 Champion Partners of the Stockton Ports, will be showcasing a 2010 Camaro on the concourse at the ballpark.

You Can Prevent Fires: The Ports will be welcoming firefighters and Smokey the Bear to Banner Island Ballpark on Friday, May 8 as well for Fire and Public Safety Awareness Night. Fans can also check out a fire equipment and vehicle display on the concourse.

Saluting the CHP: On Saturday, May 9, the Ports will be honoring the tireless service and dedication of the California Highway Patrol for CHP Night. The Ports will also give away a Ports baseball cap, featuring one of the new alternate Ports logos, to the first 1,000 fans in attendance, sponsored by CHP.

Ports to Support Goodwill Week: From Friday, May 1 to Friday, May 8, fans who donate clothing and electronics to one of the 10 Goodwill donation locations in San Joaquin County will receive a voucher for a discounted ticket to the Ports game on Saturday, May 9. The voucher for the May 9 event can be redeemed no later than 5 p.m. on May 8, by calling Heather Brooke at (209) 644-1927. Vouchers will not be redeemed at the box office.

Mother's Day Celebration: Mothers will be honored at the Ports' Sunday, May 10 game, and one lucky female fan will win a 1 carat diamond, courtesy of Peck's Jewelers, while 999 of the first 1,000 women will be given a cubic zirconium jewel.

Additionally, Sunday will feature several weekly promotions. Fans can pick up vouchers for $1 Home Run Hill Tickets from Metro PCS located in College Square, good for all Sunday home games. Every Sunday is also Autograph Sunday, where fans have the opportunity to get select Ports players' autographs before the game. Fans can purchase an All-You-Can-Eat barbecue package that includes a ticket to the game on Sundays. Everyday Eddie's Kids Club members also get in free to all Sunday home games. Applications to join the Everyday Eddie's Kids Club, presented by Subway, and the Medcore HP Silver Sluggers club are available online at www.stocktonports.com and at the Ports front office.

The ticket office at the stadium will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during the season and on non-game days. During the season on Monday through Friday game days, the ticket office will be open from 9 a.m. until the end of the game. On weekend game days, the office will be open from 10 a.m. until the end of the game.

The Ports have improved their ticketing services for the 2009 season, increasing the available ticket packages and options online, and sending out a new direct mailer to reach out to all Ports fans. Now, fans can purchase more tickets online or by mail, in addition to purchasing them over the phone or at Banner Island Ballpark. New, expanded online options for the 2009 season include season ticket packages.

What's New with the Ports:

Ticket Donation Program: The Stockton Ports are excited to introduce a new community initiative, which will support the Anchor Fund, this season called the Ticket Donation Program. Season ticket holders and fans will have the opportunity to contribute to the Anchor Fund simply by donating their unused Ports tickets. The Ports organization will match all ticket donations made by season ticket holders and other fans. Tickets donated to this program will in turn be donated to foster agency related non-profit organizations in the San Joaquin Valley, allowing underprivileged youth to attend Ports games.

Dylan to Cap off Tour at Banner Island Ballpark: The Stockton Ports are thrilled to announce that they will be hosting a trio of legendary American musicians-Bob Dylan, John Mellencamp and Willie Nelson-in the first concert in the history of Banner Island Ballpark, to be held on Saturday, August 15 at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 30. Tickets may be purchased through the Stockton Ports ticket office at Banner Island Ballpark, by calling the Ports at (209) 644-1900 or by going online at www.stocktonports.com.

Tickets for the show are priced at $68.50 for general admission. Children ages 14 and under get in free when they are accompanied by a paid adult. Except for the suites and Comcast Club seats, all seats in the stadium for the event will be general admission. Ports suite holders and Comcast Club season ticket holders will be offered the first chance to purchase tickets, and Ports season ticket holders will also have the option to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public on May 30.

This will be just the second time in 24 years that these three performers have shared the concert stage. The Bob Dylan Show summer concert tour includes stops at the top minor league baseball parks around the country. The tour will end with the final stop at Banner Island Ballpark. The Stockton Ports are the only California League team present on The Bob Dylan Show tour this year.
