Nashville SC News Release
The wait is over. Our home is here.
Nashville SC (3W-3L-2D, 11 pts.) will finally open GEODIS Park, the largest soccer-specific stadium in the U.S. and Canada, on Sunday as it faces Philadelphia Union (5W-1L-2D, 17 pts.) in a nationally-televised afternoon clash. The Boys in Gold are coming off an eight-match road trip where the Boys in Gold earned more points per match in that span to start a season than any other team in league history with 1.38.
Sunday's match will be unlike anything Music City has ever seen. The festival begins at 11 a.m. with the Fan Zone outside GEODIS Park. The artist lineup includes a pre-match concert from BRELAND, the National Anthem performed by Jason Fitz, the Guitar Riff by Tommy Shaw of Styx and a post-match concert by Judah and the Lion.
Make sure you arrive early. Parking opens at 11:00 a.m. and gates open at 1:00 p.m. This is a spectacle you won't want to miss.

Making History - Nashville SC has been waiting for this moment for its entire existence.
And now, it's finally ready to play its first home match in the largest soccer-specific stadium in the U.S. and Canada.
Owner John Ingram spoke on how much Sunday's spectacle will mean to him and to the club.
"It's been a huge amount of work by a lot of people well beyond me," Ingram said. "I'm mostly just proud for all of us. I think we've created something that's very special. Not just the stadium, but also the culture. Both of those things matter. I think we've had a lot more success than people would have thought. I look forward to what we can do. I certainly look forward to Sunday. It's going to be a very special day."
Home Cookin' - Nashville SC went unbeaten last season at home at Nissan Stadium, becoming just the seventh team in MLS history to do so. Overall, Nashville SC has only lost twice at home in Major League Soccer and is currently riding the longest active home unbeaten streak at 19 overall matches, dating back to Nov. 4, 2020.
Defender Walker Zimmerman, who had his extended contract through 2025 announced on Friday, said he hopes to keep that up in the new venue.
"It's a great streak to be a part of," Zimmerman said. "Not a lot of teams have done that. For us to continue that home streak, even though it's a different building, we're going to keep that going as long as we can."
Familiar Foes - Philadelphia Union makes its first visit to Music City since the Boys in Gold took a 1-0 win on July 3, 2020 at Nissan Stadium. Former Union striker CJ Sapong scored the lone goal in the second minute for Nashville.
This will be the first time Nashville and Philadelphia have met since the two sides finished 120 minutes of action deadlocked in the 2021 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs last November.
A season removed from an Eastern Conference Final appearance and two years removed from a Supporters' Shield, Philadelphia Union have come out of the gate strong in 2022. The team leads the Eastern Conference with 17 points, losing just one match in the process.
Hungarian midfielder Dániel Gazdag has led the way in scoring with four goals so far this season. Newly-acquired forward Julián Carranza has been a force to be reckoned with as well with three goals to start the season.
