Chicago Storm News Release
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (Dec. 18, 2008) - The Chicago Storm professional indoor soccer team takes on a familiar foe for the team's 2008-2009 Xtreme Soccer League home opener at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Sears Centre Arena, 5333 Prairie Stone Pkwy., in Hoffman Estates. The Storm host the Milwaukee Wave in the first of seven head-to-head matches this season. Both teams sport 1-0 records, with Saturday's winner claiming sole possession of first place in the early going.
Fans looking to attend the match are encouraged to bring a stuffed teddy bear for the Storm's annual Teddy Bear Toss. Throw your stuffed teddy onto the field after the Storm's first goal, and the bears will be donated to various local causes for the holiday!
The Storm and Wave have split their head-to-head competition each season since 2004-2005, and overall hold 12-12 records against one another. With seven head-to-head matches, one team is guaranteed to have a win-loss edge by the send of the season.
