Hockey Halloween Hoopla

(PORT HURON, MICH.) - The Port Huron Flags hockey club will celebrate Halloween in 2006 through several promotions and player appearances

On Saturday, Oct. 28, look for Slapshot at the Main Street Trick or Treat event. Participating children can stop by the Flags office to receive a special treat.

At the Flags home game on Sunday, Oct. 29, children (12 and under) in costume get in free, with the purchase of an adult ticket at the door. All other costumed fans receive $3 off a ticket purchased at the door. Season ticket holders may bring a child in costume and receive the free admission for the youngster.

The Flags play the visiting Kalamazoo Wings at 5 p.m., with the evening's festivities emceed by WBTI's Sean Michaels and will feature the newly revamped Chuck-a-Puck and Sunday Football Toss

During the game, Slapshot will lead the kids in a costume parade around the arena and choose three finalists for the Best Costume Award. Crowd applause will determine the grand prize winner.

On Tuesday, Oct. 31, several Flags players will be at the Trunk-or-Treat event sponsored by Colonial Woods Missionary Church. From 6:30-8 p.m., players will be present to sign autographs and hand out candy to participants. Then on Wednesday, Nov. 1, two players will head to Michigamme Elementary, from 3:15-4:45, to play floor hockey with the students.

WHO"S YOUR TIGER? Saturday's game against the Quad City Mallards begins at 7:30 p.m. and features a Detroit Tigers theme. Wear your Tigers jersey or t-shirt to receive $3 off your ticket at the door. Q107's Brian Black will be the voice of the night as we support the AL Champions in their World Series quest.
