Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
Kannapolis, NC - The Kannapolis Intimidators in conjunction with the Sylvan Learning Center are announcing a new program called "Hit the Books". Jason Bright and DUB, the Intimidators mascot, are teaming up with Marianne Bright and Debbie Johnston from the Sylvan Learning Center. "Hit the Books" is a program designed to reward and motivate children to read and includes a 20 minute interactive presentation at participating Stanly County elementary schools, involving prizes and a skit from the Intimidators representatives.
The kick-off to this event was February 5th, 2009. It took place at Richfield Elementary School. This was to explain, promote, and get everyone excited about this fantastic new program. To complete the program each student must read four books, and in doing so the Sylvan Learning Center will provide each student with a prize package. The prize package includes various items from Sylvan Learning and two free tickets to the Intimidators game on Sunday, May 31. At the game all of the students who participated in the "Hit the Books" program will be recognized on the field before the game. The Sylvan Learning Center and the Kannapolis Intimidators are conducting the presentations through the end of March.
