Macon Mayhem News Release

It was a night of firsts for the Macon Mayhem with a 6-2 win over the Pensacola Ice Flyers at the Macon Coliseum Friday night.

The six goals is a new team record for the Mayhem. Curtis Martinu became the first goalie other than Garrett Bartus to get a win for the Mayhem. And Shawn Skelly registered the franchise's first short handed goal.

After a scoreless first period, the mayhem jumped out to a 3-0 lead on second period goals by Michael Wills, Vadim Guskov, and Stephen Pierog. Early in the third period, Jackson Brewer playing in his first game for the Mayhem made it 4-0 at the one minute mark. the mayhem stretched the lead to 5-0 when Anton Lennartsson scored at 3:34.

Pensacola got a power play goal from Josh Cousineau to ruin the shutout bid. But Skelly answered that with his short handed tally. Stephen Buco completed the scoring for Pensacola with 5:37 left.

By scoring more than three goals the Mayhem met the Marco's Pizza challenge and fans can save 25% on their Marcos on line order on Saturday or in the restaurant by using the code Mayhem.

The same two teams play at the Macon Coliseum Saturday night at 7:30.
