April 18, 2011 - Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL)
Northern Kentucky River Monsters News Release
CANTON, OH - The Northern Kentucky River Monsters football organization is pleased to announce that defensive back Brett Hamblen was named the Ultimate Indoor Football League's Defensive Player of the Week, for the week ending April 17.
Hamblen started and ended the game with interceptions as the River Monsters inched closer to the league's four-team playoffs with a 59-42 victory over Eastern Kentucky Saturday. His first interception was a leaping grab that kept the Drillers from taking a quick lead.
The Highlands High School graduate added six tackles to go along with his two interceptions.
Northern Kentucky (7-1) can clinch the berth in the UIFL playoffs and take a two-game lead over second-place Saginaw when the Sting visits the Bank of Kentucky Center 7:30 p.m. March 23.
