PIKEVILLE, KY - Daniel Eidson's 17 yards field goal with 24 seconds remaining lifted Eastern Kentucky to the 44-43 victory over Northern Kentucky in the regular season finale for both teams Saturday at the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center.
NKY had a chance but Willie Idlette was tackled in bounds as the clock expired.
Subbing for Jared Lorenzen, back-up quarterback Ryan Well played very well in his first career start. He completed his first seven passes en route to 26 of 36 passing for 288 yards and six touchdowns.
Receiver Ricardo Lenhart pulled in 11 passes for 115 yards and six touchdowns. Willie Idlette added seven receptions for 104 yards and two touchdowns.
NKY (11-3) finishes the season with best regular season record heading into next week's playoffs.
