Heyward and Freeman return "home" for parade

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves are pleased to welcome back outfielder Jason Heyward and first baseman Freddie Freeman for the Rome Christmas Parade Tuesday night on Broad Street. Both were named to the South Atlantic League All Star Team in 2008.

Heyward, a Baseball America Top 20 prospect, was named the Topps Minor League Baseball Player of the year in the SAL as well as the Most Outstanding Major League Prospect in the league.

Freeman, a Baseball America Top 20 prospect as well, had an outstanding 2008 season in Rome earning back to Back Player of the Week honors.       

"Fans are always excited to see players like Jason and Freddie return home for the holidays," says Rome General Manager Michael Dunn.
