MEDFORD, OR - The Medford Rogues today announced the resignation of General Manager Chuck Heeman and Volunteer Coordinator Mayra Heeman, effective December 26. The Heemans were the first staff members brought on board by the Rogues' parent company, CSH International, in October 2012. The pair came to Medford after serving two years in similar positions for the Klamath Falls Gems of the West Coast League. Chuck Heeman cited family reasons for the move.
"First and foremost this move came from some ongoing issues with our family in Arizona," Heeman said. "This decision came from Mayra and I alone - we have been very happy in Southern Oregon for four-and-a-half years, first in Klamath Falls and for the last two-plus years in Medford. However, we as an organization promote and live a "Ëfamily first' philosophy, and we've come to a time when our family in Arizona and Southern California are becoming a bigger long-term priority for us and for our family in that part of the country. We can't talk the talk of "Ëfamily first' if we're not willing to make the choices to walk the walk ourselves, even though these choices are sometimes not easy. Southern Oregon and CSH International have been very good to Mayra and I and we will miss the fans, coaches, players, host families and partners we've worked with since 2010."
Gary Gelinas, President of the Rogues' ownership company, CSH International, added, "Chuck has been a great employee and leader for the Medford organization, he will be missed. Our organization believes in family and we 100% support Chuck and Mayra as they move closer to their family. We wish to thank them both for their dedication and commitment to Medford, the Rogues and CSH. We are working diligently to find our next GM to continue to build the business, we hope to have that person in place in January."
Chuck Heeman has accepted a position with the City of Yuma, Arizona as General Manager of the Yuma Civic Center and Ray Croc Baseball Complex.

The West Coast League is a 12-team collegiate wood-bat baseball league composed of the best college players, coaches, facilities and operators in the industry. Ranging from Medford, Oregon north to Kelowna, B.C., the league has operated as the WCL since 2005. In 2013, 56 WCL players were selected in the Major League draft.
