Heaves to Participate in Cabot-Twinfield Fundraiser
February 8, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Vermont Frost Heaves News Release
South Burlington, Vt.-The Vermont Frost Heaves will hold an open practice on Monday, Feb. 12, at 4 p.m. at the Twinfield High School gymnasium. The public is invited to attend, and join the team for two more events that evening-a ham dinner and the Cabot vs. Twinfield boys basketball game.
The practice will be free; the dinner ($5 for adults, $2 for children) will start at 5:30, and serve as a fundraiser to be divided equally between the Cabot and Twinfield Schools. Twinfield's portion will be dedicated to a fund to support needy students; Cabot's portion will go to members of the Hanson family, who suffered a devastating fire last month.
Members of the Frost Heaves, currently 21-4 and No. 2 in the ABA's power rankings, will sit throughout the stands during the Cabot-Twinfield game, which tips off at 7:30. Regular admission will be charged.
Frost Heaves head coach Will Voigt is a former valedictorian and three-sport star at Cabot High. Vermont's strength and conditioning coach, Scott Caulfield, and public-address announcer, Carl Parton, are both graduates of Twinfield.
