Heat Sign Johnson to AHL Contract as Calgary Assigns Seven to Stockton

Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Heat, proudly owned by the NHL's Calgary Flames, sign veteran defenseman Aaron Johnson to an AHL contract. In addition, the Calgary Flames have assigned Johnson along with six other players to Stockton including Austin Carroll (RW), Mitchell Heard (C), Ryan Lomberg (LW), Louick Marcotte (RW), Kent Simpson (G) and Hunter Smith (RW).

Johnson, 32, is entering his 13th season of pro hockey having played 401 games in the AHL, as well as 291 games in the NHL. Most recently, he suited up for the Binghamton Senators (AHL) in 2014-15, where he finished second on the team among defensemen with 35 points and served as the Senators captain.
