Buffalo Beauts News Release

It's been a long winter for the citizens of the Queen City, but excitement is building in Buffalo. The Buffalo Beauts are prepared to take on the Boston Pride for the third time in three postseasons.

Boston is a familiar foe for the Beauts, but this year's team has a different look than its predecessors. After some roster shuffling, Buffalo's co-head coach Ric Seiling worked hard to acquire stars Jess Jones, Sarah Edney and Rebecca Vint.

Vint slotted in nicely with Jones and Beauts captain Corrine Buie on Buffalo's top line, and the trio was one of the league's best two-way lines throughout the season, helping to spark the 10-game tear that was the finish to the team's season.

The NWHL All-Star forward is excited to embark on her first NWHL playoff run.

"We have had such a breakthrough year," Vint said. "We earned the opportunity to be the favorite in this coming playoff season. From the beginning of the year to the end, we are the same team but also different because of all the chemistry we have created. We have only improved and grown each game and we are all so excited to bring Isobel back home."

When asked how she enjoyed her first season in Buffalo, Vint gushed about the experience.

"Amazing! I don't really know how else to describe it," she said. "This season has only gotten better and better as the weeks go on for the Beauts, and I am more than thrilled to be able to have that Beauts logo on my chest. From my teammates to coaches all being amazing people, to PSE (Pegula Sports Entertainment) purchasing us, and now hosting a playoff game for the first time in franchise history"!

The pressure of the playoffs in the NWHL have an extra kick because of the intense one-and-done format. Vint is ready to lay it all on the line on Saturday against Boston. She's not ready for the season to end yet.

"We all work so hard to get to where we want to be as a team that we don't want the season to come to an end...who doesn't want more hockey"?

Though the favorite coming into the game, Vint says Buffalo cannot afford to overlook its opponent. Vint states that the team needs to "Bring a full 60 minutes to the table. We have the skill, we have the talent, we have the dedication and hard-working players. We have definitely proven ourselves this season.

"We just need to stick to our game and play Beauts hockey and we really are going to be a force to be reckoned with. We have been practicing for these playoff games all season. Now is where it really counts. I know we will be ready, I'm confident we will be ready."

There is no love lost between these perennial postseason foes, and for the first time in league history, one of these two teams will not be playing for a chance to hoist the Cup in the Final. This is a game you will not want to miss. Come to the HARBORCENTER or view the game on Twitter on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
