SIOUX FALLS, SD - Sioux Falls Storm Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs earned his 250th career win Friday night with the team's victory over the Iowa Barnstormers. It was an exciting way to earn the win as the team won on a game-winning touchdown pass in overtime.

Coach Riggs started his career with the Storm back in 2000, back when they were known as the Sioux Falls Cobras. He played through 2001 and then transitioned to coaching for the Storm the next year in 2002. His first position was as the offensive coordinator for the Storm before moving to head coach in 2003.

Riggs has won Coach of the Year four times while being the coach of the team, those being in 2004 for the NIFL, 2006 and 2007 for the UIF and 2015 in the IFL. The team has 11 championships under their belt, all under Riggs, along with consecutive championships from 2005-2008 and from 2011-2016. He has an all-time record of 250-55. He is currently in the midst of his 18th season with the team.

He was inducted into the Indoor Football League's Hall of Fame class in 2021.

During his tenure, the Storm achieved the longest winning streak of any professional sports team, winning 40 consecutive games.

The Storm currently sit 4-3 overall on the season with nine games left on their schedule and will be looking to win their 12th championship and first since 2019.
