Head Coach and GM Matt Romaniski Resigns

Wyandotte, Mich. - The Motor City Machine announced today that Matt Romaniski has resigned as the team's head coach and general manager effective immediately.
Machine assistant coach Sean Clark will take over as the team's interim head coach.
"Matt has been an important part of this organization from the beginning and we can't thank him enough for all the hard work and contributions he's made to help get this team off the ground," said Machine president Marc Schneider.
Clark, from Troy, Mich., spent his college playing days in the WIAC at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire before moving on to the professional level with the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL.
After his playing career, Clark became an assistant coach for the Metro Jets of the Central States League before serving as head coach of the Michigan Jaguars during the 2006-07 season. After leaving the Jaguars, Clark jumped on board with the USA Hockey Select 17 staff in 2008.
Since 2006, Clark has been with CORE Sports Fitness, where he serves as a skating instructor, performance coach and business director. He's also the creator, director and head instructor of Kris Draper's CORE Fundamentals Hockey School. Â
The Motor City Machine is in their first season in Michigan as members of the North American Hockey League. The Motor City Machine are formerly the Southern MN Express in which they made the playoffs three straight years and twice into the Robertson Cup finals.
