Lubbock Hawks News Release
The National Women's Basketball League welcomes Kesha Watson to the Lubbock Hawks. The former Star is adding talent to the Hawks front court.
Kesha Watson is a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A graduate of Oklahoma City University, Watson started all but three games while at OCU and led her team to a 142-7 win/loss record while a Star. With Kesha at the helm, the Stars won two NAIA National Championships and two National runner-up titles.
Kesha's last two seasons in Oklahoma were the most decorated for her as an athlete. In 2004 she was a Kodak Player of the Year as well as the WBCA Player of the Year. Kesha led the nation in scoring, in the NAIA averaging 24.1 points a game, and holds OCU career records in scoring, steals, and assists.
In 2003 and 2004 Watson was named NAIA Player of the Year, Kodak First-Team All American, named to the NAIA All Tournament Team, the Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Year, and the SAC All-Tournament "Hustle" Award.
Kesha has been busy keeping her skills sharp by playing with Everyone's Internet. Watson looks forward to playing with the Lubbock Hawks. She joins Molly Creamer in the front court, former Texas Tech stand-outs Alicia Thompson and Plenette Pierson, former Texas Longhorn Stacy Stephens, Purdue star Shereka Wright, and stylish Jackie Stiles.
