
Hawks ready to meet Chill again

The Lubbock Hawks (4-3) of the National Women's Basketball League will take on the Becky Hammon, Ruth Riley and the Colorado Chill (7-1) on Friday, Feb. 4. This will be the third time this season that the two teams have met, with the Chill leading the series 2-0.
This is the first time this season Colorado has made the trip to Lubbock, with both of the wins over the Hawks coming at home. In the first match-up between the two teams Stacy Stephens and Jocelyn Penn each collected their first double-double of the season Stephens put up 12 points and 11 rebounds while Penn added 14 points and 13 rebounds. Each team had four players to score double-figures, but shooting only 35% in the second half the Hawks were unable to hold on to their half-time lead, losing 70-67.
In the second meeting, which was only Sunday, the Hawks shot only 40% from the field, while the Chill were able to shoot 50%. The Chill's Ruth Riley scored a game high 20 points and led Colorado to an 84-72 win.
Lubbock (3-0) has not lost a game at the Rip Griffin Center. Stacy Stephens will be a game time decision.
