Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

A pair of second period goals put the Waterloo Black Hawks ahead of the Green Bay Gamblers and on their way to a 3-1 win Friday.

Less than two minutes into the period, on a rush up ice, a puck found its way to Blake Kessel who wristed it into the top corner of the net. At the end of a powerplay late in the second, James Marcou slid a rebound into an open side, giving Waterloo a two goal cushion at intermission. A minute and five seconds into the final period, Marcou going to the net set up a final Hawks goal by Tim Gilbert. Green Bay would score with 6:30 remaining, but a number of fine stops by Matt DiGirolamo kept the Gamblers from getting any closer.

The Hawks host the Omaha Lancers Saturday at 7:05, hoping to bounce back against a team they lost to in a 4-2 Tuesday night meeting.
