Indiana Blast News Release
INDIANAPOLIS- The Indiana Blast (0-1-4, 1 pt) lost to the Cincinnati Riverhawks (4-0-2, 12 pts) 2-1 Friday night at Kuntz Stadium. Jamar Beasley came off the bench in his first action as a Blast player and contributed an assist. Originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Beasley was signed just two days before the match. Godfrey Tenoff scored the goal for Indiana. Byron Carmichael scored the game-winner for Cincinnati.
Salvatore Piraine scored off his own shot in the 24th minute. Piraine beat Blast goalkeeper Mark Spears, but hit his shot hit the crossbar and deflected right to his feet, and Piraine drilled the open-netter.
Jamar Beasley came off the bench and made his presence known in the 60th minute. Beasley beat his defender and turned the corner. Beasley then tight-wired the goal line and sent a cross to Godfrey Tenoff, who was trailing on the play. Tenoff coolly slotted the ball into the empty net.
Byron Carmichael stole the ball from two Blast defenders, who were leaving the ball for the keeper. Carmichael gathered the ball and dribbled around Spears to score the game-winner.
The Blast's next home game will be Saturday, May 31st against the El Paso Patriots at 7:35 pm at Kuntz Stadium. It's "Noche con el Indiana Blast" - Latino Night with the Indiana Blast. Gates open early at 6:00pm with music from Threeone-7. Papa Johns Pizza and Faygo will be distributed to the first 500 fans through the gates.
