HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc managed to win one game on a three-game road trip this past weekend falling to the Augusta RiverHawks before splitting a pair of games with the Fayetteville FireAntz

Thursday, March 14 - Huntsville 2, Augusta 6

AUGUSTA, GA - Augusta RiverHawks' Drew Baker had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-2 win over the Huntsville Havoc.

Baker scored at 3:32 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Augusta and again while 10:45 into the second to make the score 3-1 Augusta.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 16:09 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Augusta's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Huntsville power plays. The RiverHawks' offense was clicking better than usual and put 29 shots on goal during the game, better than the 18.3 shots per game they average. Augusta outdid its season average for goals scored. The RiverHawks average 2.7 goals per game. The defensemen of Augusta were also effective in Huntsville's zone, and came away with three goals.

Augusta also got points from Casey Mignone, who also had one goal and one assist and Taylor Larsen, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Augusta also got a goal from Joe Schiller as well. Other players who recorded assists for Augusta were Curtis Megginson, Jay Pietrasiak, Jason Price, Kyle Watson, Matt Auffrey, Alex Morton, and Marcus Pryde, who each chipped in one.

The Havoc stifled the RiverHawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Huntsville put 24 shots on net during the contest, more than the 18.7 it averages per game.

The Havoc were helped by Kyle Laughlin, who racked up one goal. Laughlin scored 7:33 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Augusta. Paul DAgostino assisted on the tally. Huntsville additionally got points from DAgostino, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Huntsville came via Nick Lazorko and Justin Cseter, who contributed one a piece.

Augusta's Robbie Moss stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The RiverHawks totaled 38 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 0-for-4 on the power play. For Augusta, Michael Switzer was ejected from the game. Dan McWhinney took the loss and made 18 saves before being replaced by Jesse Kallechy who made five saves. Huntsville ended with 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors. The Havoc ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Aaron McGill was ejected from the game.

Friday, March 15 - Huntsville 4, Fayetteville 1

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Huntsville Havoc relied on the scoring touch of Stuart Stefan and Nick Lazorko, who both netted two goals, to beat the Fayetteville FireAntz, 4-1.

Stefan scored on the power play at 3:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Huntsville and again while 17:31 into the second to make the score 2-1 Huntsville.

Huntsville's Jesse Kallechy was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 27 saves and let only one puck past him. Kallechy certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.27 entering the contest.

By firing 21 shots on goal, the Havoc exceeded the 18.3 shots they average per game this year.

Huntsville additionally got points from Nick Lazorko, who also tallied two goals and one assist. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Paul DAgostino, Matt Smyth, and Mike Gurtler, who each chipped in one.

Fayetteville was held below its usual level of production. The FireAntz average 3.3 goals per game. Fayetteville put 28 shots on net during the contest, more than the 19.6 it averages per game.

The FireAntz were led by Corey Toy, who scored the team's only goal. Toy scored 9:04 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brent Tamane provided the assist.

Huntsville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Marco Emond made 17 saves for Fayetteville on 20 shots. The FireAntz incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.

Saturday, March 16 - Huntsville 1, Fayetteville 4

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Fayetteville FireAntz relied on the scoring touch of Brent Tamane, who netted two goals, to beat the Huntsville Havoc, 4-1.

Tamane's tallies came at 2:55 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Fayetteville and 14:18 into the third to make the score 3-1 Fayetteville.

Fayetteville's Marco Emond was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 30 saves and let only one puck past him. Emond certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.51 entering the contest.

The FireAntz's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Huntsville power plays. Fayetteville put 42 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.1 it averages per game.

Fayetteville additionally got points from Andrew Smale, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. John Clewlow also scored for Fayetteville. More assists for Fayetteville came via Mike Kavanagh and Bobby Reed, who contributed one a piece.

Huntsville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Havoc's offense rang up 31 shots on the FireAntz's net.
