November 1, 2021 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Winnipeg Ice News Release
The Winnipeg ICE congratulate goaltender Daniel Hauser on being named the WHL's Goaltender of the Week.
The Chestermere, Alberta product went 2-0 this past week with a 1.00 goals against average and .966 save percentage.
Wednesday in Calgary, Hauser made 27 of 29 saves in a 3-2 win over the Hitmen.
The 17 year old followed that up with his first WHL shut out stopping all 29 shots he faced Saturday in Lethbridge in a 7-0 victory over the Hurricanes.
Hauser currently shares the WHL lead for wins by a goaltender at seven with Dylan Garand of Kamloops.
In 15 career WHL games, Hauser is 14-0-1, with a 2.46 goals against average, .911 save percentage and one shut out.
The ICE now prepare for a five game homestand starting at 7:00 Thursday night at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena vs the Red Deer Rebels.
Sunday afternoon at 2:00, when the ICE host the Rebels again, the game will be dedicated to the Christmas Cheer Board.
The Cheer Board strives to provide a festive holiday experience for Winnipeggers in need. With ongoing COVID-19 concerns, the need for donations is great this year.
Christmas Cheer Board staff and volunteers will be in attendance collecting donations. Please consider bringing a new unwrapped toy for children 0-14 years of age as well as monetary donations to the game!
Using promo code CHEER, a portion of the proceeds of every ticket purchased using the code will go towards the Christmas Cheer Board.
