PORTLAND, Ore. - Alan Gordon scored three goals in Saturday night's comeback win over Milwaukee and was named the A-League's Player of the Week for the second time in as many weeks in recognition, it was announced Tuesday.

Gordon leads the league with 13 points and six goals on the year.

Facing a 0-2 deficit Saturday night in the 65th minute, Gordon ignited his team by scoring two goals to send the game into overtime.

Five minutes into the extra period, Gordon beat his defender, took a forward pass from Scott Benedetti and cashed in for the game-winning goal before a raucous crowd at PGE Park.

It was the fifth goal in two games for Gordon, who tallied a pair at Vancouver the week prior.

Tuesday's naming was the first time a player has been honored as back-to-back Player of the Week since Pittsburgh's Thiago Martins in 2003.

Aaron Heinzen was named to the A-League Team of the Week for his solid play in Saturday night's win. An anchor of the Timbers defense for the past two seasons, it was the first time Heinzen has received the weekly honor.

TIMBERS NOTES: The Timbers take to the road this week, playing at Charleston on Friday at 5 p.m. and at Atlanta for a Saturday match at 3 p.m. Both start times are Pacific.
