Hartford Athletic News Release
HARTFORD, Conn. - Hartford Athletic and Stop & Shop announced today that they will be teaming up to fight hunger. On October 6th from 12-2pm, Stop & Shop will be hosting a meet and greet with Hartford Athletic players and coaches at the 150 New Park Avenue location in Hartford. Fans are invited to attend the event to meet the team and are encouraged to make a donation of cash or non-perishable food items to help fight hunger in our communities.
"Speaking with the team at Stop & Shop, it was clear that we needed to work together to fight hunger, especially as children in our region are returning to school," said Jordan Charlupski, VP of Revenue & Strategic Initiatives for Hartford Athletic. "The plan to introduce our players at Stop & Shop while raising funds and food donations for Foodshare runs parallel to our mission of 'building our community through the beautiful game.' We cannot thank Stop & Shop enough for their hospitality, and we look forward to an incredible event," said Charlupski.
During the month of October, Hartford Athletic and Stop & Shop invite fans to donate to Foodshare while enjoying a match via a discounted ticket link. Three dollars from every discounted ticket purchased at www.hartfordathletic.com/foodshare will be donated directly to the only food bank serving Hartford and Tolland Counties.
"We're excited to offer our customers a chance to meet the Athletic players - while also providing an opportunity to give back," said Jennifer Brogan, Director of External Communications & Community Relations for Stop & Shop. "We hope the Hartford community joins us on October 6th for some in-store fun - and fundraising for our longtime partner Foodshare."
Hartford Athletic returns home for its next match at Dillon Stadium on October 5th. For tickets and more information, go to www.hartfordathletic.com.
