5 Reasons You Won'T Want to Miss SOMOS Saturday

As we gear up for Somos Saturday, we thought we'd drop some facts about why this is going to be the best Saturday event in the state of New Mexico.

1. A Historic Match in the Making

Somos Saturday will feature an extremely crucial game in New Mexico United's history. Throughout this season, Phoenix Rising has been on fire - breaking the USL's win streak record by winning 20 games in a row - double what the record was until Fresno put an end to their wins last week. There is one team in particular that they haven't beaten yet. If you guessed NM United, then you would be correct! The last time we met in a regular-season matchup, both teams walked away with a point with the game ending in a draw. Flash forward to our US Open Cup run when we found victory against Phoenix in penalty kicks.

Saturday will be instrumental as we continue to make a run for the playoffs. We are looking to 'blackout' The Lab, and remind Phoenix of what a formidable opponent we are. You and 15,000 of your closest friends are encouraged to wear your black gear and become a daunting, United wall of black. Bring out your inner warrior!

2. Catch a Free Ride Downtown

Get your tickets to SOMOS ABQ.

After catching a thrilling match and cheering on the home side, catch a free shuttle downtown just in time to catch this year's SOMOS ABQ headliner, and check out the Meow Wolf Outer Party taking place at the Albuquerque Convention Center. You might even see a player or two.

The shuttle will pick up fans from the city bus stop located on University just north of Avenida Cesar Chavez, and will then drop everyone off at the SOMOS ABQ stop on Tijeras, between 3rd and 4th avenue - right in the middle of all the action. Now, that's some VIP treatment.

3. Best of Both Worlds

From the beginning, finding a way to pair art and sport has been an important mission for our team. From our partnership with Meow Wolf to the impressive tifos created by our fans to our artist series of merchandise.
