Long Beach, CA - The Long Beach Armada have announced that they will be hosting "Harry Potter Day" sponsored by Once Upon A Story Books when the Armada face the Chico Outlaws on Thursday, August 2nd, at 12:05pm at Blair Field. Fans are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Hogwarts student, teacher, or other magical creature and enter the Costume Contest. Those who dress up will receive a special discount of two General Admission tickets for $7.
Fans of all ages will celebrate the release of the fifth movie, as well as the release of the final book in the Harry Potter series, during the Long Beach Armada game against the Chico Outlaws. Fans in attendance will also have the opportunity to try their "spell casting" skills in a Spell Quiz, sample popular treats such as Butterbeer, be "sorted" into their respective Hogwarts houses, and more. Various Harry Potter items will be raffled off, including the newest and final book in the series, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows".
Once Upon A Story opened in 1996, and currently houses a unique selection of books, puzzles, toys and more. The store is active in the community, as well as a support of literacy programs. They can be found online at www.onceuponastorybooks.com
The Long Beach Armada will be playing against the Chico Outlaws at 12:05 p.m., with pre-game activities starting at 11 a.m.
