Alaska opened up a 2-0 lead in the first period with a pair of goals just 1:54 apart. Zach Harrison connected on a rush up ice with a wrister from the right circle for a 1-0 Alaska lead with 9:53 left. Alexandre Imbeault then stashed a loose puck into a half open net, at the right post, for a two goal bulge.

Just 55 seconds into the second period, Eric Hunter feathered a pass to a wide open Gabriel Levesque at the goal mouth. Levesque faked Gerald Coleman to the glove side and stashed a backhander to cut the deficit to a goal.

Alex Hudson restored the Aces lead at two goals at the 14:03 mark when he maneuvered around the Thunder defense and deflected a shot off Roy's glove, into the net.

Alaska bumped its lead to 4-1 at 6:44 of the third on B.J. Crum's finish at the net, set up by Evan Trupp's feed from the left wing. Trupp then converted a rebound off the rush with 8:26 left in regulation to boost the Aces lead to 5-1.

Shawn Weller converted on an outnumbered attacked with a wrister from the left circle, set up by Harrison Reed's cross-ice pass to finish the scoring with 6:26 left in regulation.

Roy took the loss with 34 stops and made 17 saves in the second period.
