Pittsfield Suns News Release

Harrison Paige (AIC) was able to completely dominate the Torrington Titans (10-16); helping the Suns move back to within two games of .500 with their second win in as many nights. At 12-14, the Suns now sit in 5th place in the FCBL as we work our way into the July portion of the schedule.

Paige only allowed three hits in six innings while walking just one and striking out five. After giving up a run in the first, only three runners even reached second base in the next five innings. While Paige did not need much help from the offense on this particular evening, the Suns still magaged to send 10 men to the plate in a four run bottom of the first. With a 4-1 lead, the Suns were in cruise control from the get go.

Offensively, John Kinne (Columbia University) went 2-for-3 with two runs batted in in clutch situations. Both of Kinne's RBIs drove in a run with two outs in the first and fifth innings. Frank Crinella (Merrimack College) continued his hot hitting with his third consecutive multi-hit game, going 2-for-5 with a run scored.

Sidearmers Tom Hackimer (St. John's) and Adam Whitt (Nevada) shut the door on the Titans by pitching the final three innings of the game. Hackimer and Whitt only allowed two hits while striking out four.

The Suns continue play tomorrow in Portsmouth, New Hampshire against the North Shore Navigators. The Suns return home Saturday, July 13th to play the Martha's Vineyard Raging Tide.
