Harrison, Dixon Named Week's Top Players

Boise, Idaho (Dec. 2, 2002)— The Continental Basketball Association announced today that Rockford Lightning guard David Harrison earned his second straight American Conference Player of the Week award while Dakota Wizards guard Malik Dixon earned National Conference honors, for the period of Nov. 24-30.

Harrison averaged 25.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 4.75 apg, and 4.25 spg in leading the Lightning to a 3-1 record last week. In a 129-112 win over the Gary Steelheads on Nov. 30, the 6-4 guard posted a game-high 37 points along with 11 rebounds and 5 steals.

In his first CBA season, Dixon becomes the second straight Wizard to earn National Conference honors for his 22.7 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 7.0 apg, and 2.3 spg. Andy Panko won the award for week one. The Arkansas-Little Rock ('98) product led Dakota to a 3-0 record last week, including a 120-105 victory over the Yakima Sun Kings in which Dixon tallied 28 points and 5 assists.

Other players receiving consideration for American Conference honors were Gary's Oliver Miller (25.0 ppg, 15.7 rpg), Great Lakes' Cory Hightower (20.5 ppg, 7.5 apg), and Grand Rapids' Kei Madison (24.0 ppg, 13.0 rpg). The three other players receiving consideration in the National Conference were Yakima's Tyson Wheeler (16.0 ppg, 7.3 apg), Idaho's Brian Green (21.8 ppg, 3.3 spg), and Sioux Falls' Versile Shaw (15.8 ppg, 10.3 rpg).
