Harge Relieved of Coaching Duties

LITTLE ROCK, AR, February 9- The Arkansas RimRockers Head Coach Joe Harge has been relieved of his coaching duties effective immediately. Former assistant coach Andy Stoglin will take over as interim coach for the remainder of the season. The RimRockers are 14-16 under Harge.

"We appreciate everything Joe has done during his tenure as head coach of the RimRockers and we wish him nothing but the best as he pursues other avenues," General Manger Otis Birdsong said. "He has made many solid contributions to the success of the RimRockers."

Stoglin joined the RimRockers after serving as General Manager and Head Coach of the World Basketball Association's Mississippi Hardhats. Stoglin led the Mississippi Hardhats to an 18-6 overall record and a berth in the WBA Finals, losing to the Rome Gladiators 103-100. He was awarded with the 2005 WBA Commissioners Award for his outstanding contributions in the WBA. During the 2004-05 season, Stoglin coached the Mississippi Stingers of the American Basketball Association. Under Stoglin, the Stingers went 26-4 (1-3 against the RimRockers), and won the East Division before losing in the Final Four of the ABA Championships to the RimRockers. Not only was Stoglin the Head Coach for the Mississippi Stingers and Hardhats, but also served as the GM of the Florence Flyers of the USBL. Prior to his professional coaching career, Stoglin spent 14 seasons as Head Coach at Jackson State University.
