Strong Island Sound News Release

Patchogue, NY. The Strong Island Sound are proud to announce that on Fri, Mar 3 at 7pm at Suffolk Community College in Selden, the Florida Pit Bulls will be their opponent in the final game of the regular season. Former NBA star Tim Hardaway is a player/coach and part-owner of the Florida team. The Pit Bulls are currently 19-7 and ranked 7th in the ABA Power Rankings. They have been one of the better teams in the league all season with Hardaway playing a major role.

The Strong Island Sound have won 5 straight games to reach the .500 mark at 14-14. They recently defeated 2 of the top 10 teams in the Power Rankings (Maryland and Harlem) and look to improve on their position. Currently the Sound are in a position to host a playoff game.

The game will also be "Youth League Appreciation Night." There will be discounted admission of $8 for all Youth Organization teams (regular ticket prices are $12). Please wear your team jersey and we encourage all teammates to sit together with their coach. All School Team/CYO/PAL/Youth Organization personnel can take advantage of this offer.

The Sound will also have a special guest player that evening. The ABA has a unique rule that allows teams to suit up a "13th Man Celebrity Player." Comedian Bob Nelson will be joining the Sound for this game.

All fans will receive a FREE game program upon entrance. Parking is also FREE at all Strong Island Sound home games. For more information, contact Joe Pietaro at 631 207 2227 x 107, email jpietaro@strongislandsound.com or visit www.strongislandsound.com or www.abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
